Our favourite festival outfits from Summer 2019 so far…
From Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig (pictured) to Russian techno heavy-weight Nina Kraviz, plus many more, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite looks from this Summer’s frivolities in a field. You probably can’t afford most of them. (Apart from the lingerie).
1. Ezra Koenig — Vampire Weekend (Glastonbury)
We (Alex) fell in love with this gorgeous burnt orange two-piece outfit worn by the Vampire Weekend frontman during a sweltering Sunday at the Pyramid Stage. In a sturdy denim, the jacket screams individuality with its eye-catching oversized pockets, while the low-cut trousers round off a relaxed but sophisticated look (once you get over the fact that you could look like a prison inmate).
2. Nina Kraviz (Primavera)
Military-chic was on the menu for Nina Kraviz during her set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Her trench coat features neat details in the form of oversized buttons and epaulettes, which complement her signature techno grooves.
3. Billie Eilish (Glastonbury)
Another one from Glastonbury, this time it’s Stella McCartney’s custom-made outfit worn by the insanely talented Billie Eilish. Her baggy clothing style often turns heads, with the singer recently confessing that ‘it gives nobody the opportunity to judge what your body looks like’. Good for her.
4. Elijah Hewson — Inhaler (TRNSMT)
Elijah Hewson is the song of U2’s Bono, and luckily his dad hasn’t passed on his slightly one-dimensional sense of style to his offspring. The real statement piece in this performance is Hewson’s suede tan jacket, made effortlessly cool with a black t-shirt and jeans. We dig it.
5. Fat Mike — NOFX (Bay Fest)
Ever since he confessed his transvestite tendencies in the band’s autobiography, Fat Mike has brought to fruition his own lingerie brand for men. You will actually be hard pressed to find him wearing anything other than dresses and thongs from Fatale Design, made ‘specifically for regular dudes that just wanna be able to dress how they want to’.
